On Tuesday 05 March 2024 in Abidjan the 18 meeting for the PUIC. Somalia has participated with high-level delegates from both houses the house of the people and the upper house led by the second deputy speaker the house of the people. The meetings is participated by members of state legislations.
The 18th meeting of the PUIC is discussed with the agenda of the meeting including the member states national and international concerns to raise awareness in the member states. Somalia has presented the maritime dispute in the Horn of Africa with its neighborhood country Ethiopia.
The Honorable MP Mr. Abdullahi Abshirow the Second Deputy Speaker of the Somali Parliament the House of the People presented the message of Somalia to the 18 meeting of the PUIC. The case of the Horn Africa Maritime Dispute an illegal pact between the regional administration of Somalia and Ethiopia is a violation of the international agreement. Therefore, Somalia seeks a collective response and condemnation against Ethiopia for this issue.
