08-06-2024 Kismanyo Jubbbaland State Somalia The chairman of the BJFS House of Representatives, Mr. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, chaired the meeting of the Standing Committee of the House of People, which was held today in Kismayo, the capital of Jubaland State. The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the People’s Assembly Saadiya Yasin Haji Samatar, whose agenda was the preparation of the general agenda for the fifth session of the People’s Assembly.
First of all, the members of the Standing Committee discussed the way of selecting Somali MPs to represent Somalia in the Parliament of the East African Economic Cooperation (EAC), the requirements for a person to be a member of that parliament, the requirements of each country in that organization and the position of the organization. which includes the annual financial contribution of each country as well as all the conditions for Somalia to officially interact with this organization.
Also, the members of the permanent committee approved the acceleration of the old draft laws while on the other hand new legislative proposals passed by the government. This meeting was one of the meetings of the Standing Committee of the People’s Assembly, and it is the purpose of the trip of the Chairman of the Assembly and his delegation to Kismayo, the capital of the Jubaland state.
